Shannon Fluharty

M.S. Student

Shannon’s undergraduate research involved studying the health of the oyster population in the Elizabeth River in Virginia and researching the health of Helocintrinide populations off the Gulf of Mexico for the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species. Following completion of her undergraduate studies she worked as a Communication Scientist developing graphics for environmental text books and working with local watermen on conservation efforts. She then worked as an Environmental Scientist in a consulting firm assisting public and private firms with environmental compliance measures before pursuing her graduate studies in the department where she continues to research aquaculture issues.
