Colburn is in his last year of the department's 5-year combined bachelors/masters program and serving as the Commodity Investing by Students graduate student fellow. His primary interest, both professionally and academically, is Commodity Price Analysis. He has been a member of COINS since his freshman year and has interned on commodity trading floors at Perdue Agribusiness in Salisbury, Maryland, and (virtually) at Citi in Houston, Texas. His research currently focuses on describing and explaining tracking error in commodity-backed ETFs, and he is interested in time-series analysis, corporate commodity risk management techniques, and quantitative methods for commodity trading and portfolio management.
