Timothy Pierce is a master's student in the department working with Dr. John Bovay. Pierce came to the department with a B.S. degree in Economics from Washington and Lee University where he focused on microeconomics, poverty, and human capabilities studies. As an undergraduate, he conducted community-based research in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, through an internship with the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty. He is currently working on an Extension project to bring research-backed information about sustainable farms and agribusinesses to Virginia producers and food businesses.
