Katheryn Russ is currently serving as CEA Senior Economist with focus on international macroeconomics, financial regulation and trade, including regional trade negotiations such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Within the Executive Office of the President, the CEA provides the President with objective economic advice on the formulation of both domestic and international policy. Dr. Russ is on leave from the University of California, Davis, where she is an Associate Professor of Economics, and she is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Dr. Russ received her Ph.D. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University (2005), a M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech (1996) and her B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary (1994). Upon graduating from VT she served in the Peace Corps with her husband Adam Russ also an M.S. graduate and currently novelist and educator in Northern California.
