How did you end up at Virginia Tech and in your major?
- I started my journey in applied economics through their online Master’s program in the department, which I joined with my coworkers. We worked well together as a cohort. The program was an ideal fit for me, as it combined my interests in math, financial trends, quantitative analysis, and economics.
Class year(s) and degree(s)
- 2022, Master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics
Favorite Virginia Tech memory
- Graduation was a lot of fun for me as it was my first time visiting the campus, bookstore, library, and stadium.
Why should a prospective student consider agricultural and applied economics?
- Applied economics is an excellent field for those aiming to strengthen their quantitative and analytical skills while gaining a deep understanding of global food systems. This discipline offers the opportunity to enhance coding abilities in RStudio and analyze trends in the economy, financial markets, and agriculture.
Fun fact about yourself.
- I like playing tennis and traveling to national parks, states, and countries.
