The MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC) is an internationally-renowned research conference for undergraduates, by undergraduates—and we’re thrilled to share that the Data Science for the Public Good program was represented by an incredible student team that won Best Poster Presentation!
👏 Meet the team:
- Filza Mutaal (Berea College, Presenter)
- Elisabeth Wasserman (Virginia Tech)
- Brynna Wert (Virginia Tech)
Their project, “Deaths of Despair,” focused on investigating the socioeconomic determinants of deaths of despair in Appalachia and Virginia. We’re so proud of these brilliant minds for contributing meaningful research at such a prestigious event.
