SPIA

AAEC partners with the Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA), a sub-group of the Independent Science and Partnership Council (ISPC). One of the key SPIA mandates is to provide the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) members with timely, objective, and credible information on the impacts at the system level of past CGIAR investments and outputs in terms of the CGIAR System Level Outcomes (SLOs). Involved faculty members are: Jeffrey Alwang, George Norton, Catherine Larochelle, and Bradford Mills. Graduate Students also play a major role in SPIA-funded projects, traveling to countries in Sub-Sarahan Africa (SSA), Asia, and South America to conduct surveys and analyze the results.
