Instructions

This target price calculator provides an estimate of what you may receive for your animals at one of these feeder cattle auctions.

To use the calculator:

• Click the "Refresh Futures" button
• Input expected cattle characteristics at the time of marketing in Option #1 column
• The target price is the futures price plus the average basis for that location
• To compare animals: input the expected cattle characteristics at the time of marketing in the Option #2 column and change the characteristic you would like to compare (i.e., location, weight, month, etc.)
• See target price differences and adjustments.

*Note that the weight categories in 50 lb increments are only for the Abingdon (VQA) sales, and data is only available for January, March, July, August, November, and December.
